Samsung unveiled the worldâs first 6K gaming monitor, the Odyssey G8 (G80HS), earlier this year. Now, that monitor is finally available for purchase. Though you should consider buying it only if you have a PC powerful enough to drive all those pixels at a high refresh rate.
The new Odyssey G8 (G80HS) is priced at â¬1,499 in Germany. You can buy it directly from Samsungâs website, and it will start shipping on June 19. It could launch in other European countries very soon.
It uses a 32-inch Fast IPS LCD panel with 6K resolution (6,144 x 3,456 pixels, 224ppi), up to a 165Hz refresh rate, a 1ms response time, support for up to 1 billion colors, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and up to 350 nits of peak brightness.

If you lower the resolution to 3K (3,072 x 1,728 pixels), it can reach a refresh rate of up to 330Hz. At that resolution, you can achieve decent frame rates even with a reasonably powerful GPU.
The monitor has both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync Compatible certifications. Other gaming features include Black Equalizer, Virtual Aim Point, Super Arena Gaming UX, and Core Sync.

The Odyssey G8 supports HDR10 and HDR10+ Gaming. It has two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB 3.2 hub.
